OPTION 2

Arrival on Friday

In the evening we will serve you a welcoming buffet dinner.

Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Breakfast followed by Wine Tasting Lessons.

The lessons are given by qualified oenology teachers. Groups are a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 participants, which enables a lively exchange in a relaxed and good humoured atmosphere.
The main objective of these lessons is to give you the basic wine tasting techniques and the wish to go further.

This three day morning course (6 hours in total) covers wines originating from the Bordeaux region (Graves, Sauternes, Entre Deux Mers and Saint Emilion). You will learn the various wine tasting techniques (blind, vertical and horizontal) and discover the principal wine producing areas and their distinctive vine growing and wine making methods. Your newly acquired knowledge will be immediately put into practice over a specially prepared lunch and afternoon guided visits of wine châteaux in the appelation area studied.

Lunch

In local auberge style restaurants. For a mouth-watering foretaste: we have chosen auberge style restaurants that use fresh farm products to conjure up tasty and original local dishes. The menus have been specially devised to complement the wines studied during the course of the day.
Here are a few examples:

  • Terrine of foie gras with a sauternes and green pepper sauce
  • Grilled swordfish steak in a white wine sauce
  • Young wild boar stew
  • Iced raspberry soufflé "au sauternes"

Visits of Wine Chateaux and Tastings

We will take you to mainly family owned châteaux producing red, rosé, sweet white, dry and sparkling white wines. Using both modern and traditional wine making techniques, the owners have one thing in common: a true love of their profession and a passion for sharing it with you.

Free Time

You will be able to relax or discover the other attractions of The region and Other activities.

OPTION 3
