OPTION 2Arrival on FridayIn the evening we will serve you a welcoming buffet dinner. Saturday, Sunday and Monday.Breakfast followed by Wine Tasting Lessons.The lessons are given by qualified oenology teachers. Groups are a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 participants, which enables a lively exchange in a relaxed and good humoured atmosphere.
This three day morning course (6 hours in total) covers wines originating from the Bordeaux region (Graves, Sauternes, Entre Deux Mers and Saint Emilion). You will learn the various wine tasting techniques (blind, vertical and horizontal) and discover the principal wine producing areas and their distinctive vine growing and wine making methods. Your newly acquired knowledge will be immediately put into practice over a specially prepared lunch and afternoon guided visits of wine châteaux in the appelation area studied. LunchIn local auberge style restaurants. For a mouth-watering foretaste: we have chosen auberge style restaurants that use fresh farm products to conjure up tasty and original local dishes. The menus have been specially devised to complement the wines studied during the course of the day.
Visits of Wine Chateaux and TastingsWe will take you to mainly family owned châteaux producing red, rosé, sweet white, dry and sparkling white wines. Using both modern and traditional wine making techniques, the owners have one thing in common: a true love of their profession and a passion for sharing it with you. Free TimeYou will be able to relax or discover the other attractions of The region and Other activities. OPTION 3Arrival FridayIn the evening, we will serve you a welcoming buffet dinner. Saturday and SundayBreakfast followed by Wine Tasting LessonsAs in the 3 day course described above, the lessons are given by professional wine teachers and will give you the main tools to continue wine tasting with more confidence. A bilingual organiser will help with any language difficulties. You will be free for the rest of the time although we shall be more than happy to recommend and make reservations at local restaurants and arrange private visits at local wine châteaux. You will be more than welcome to stay on longer to explore the other many attractions in the immediate area. | |||
